Licensed Veterinary Technician (LVT)

A well-established, feline and small mammal practice is seeking a Licensed Veterinary Technician to join our dedicated team. We specialize in the care of cats and exotic companion mammals, including rabbits, guinea pigs, chinchillas, and hamsters. Our focus is on providing gentle, low-stress, high-quality medical care in a supportive, team-oriented environment.

Experience preferred—but we are willing to train the right candidate with a strong work ethic and passion for the field.

Position Details:

• Full-Time

• Shifts may begin as early as 8:00 AM and end as late as 7:00 PM

• Must be available for some weekends and holidays

Key Responsibilities:

• Administer medications and treatments to feline and exotic inpatients

• Assist with blood draws, catheter placement, intubation, and other technical procedures

• Support doctor during surgeries and dental procedures (anesthesia monitoring, surgical prep, recovery)

• Perform and assist with digital radiography

• Practice gentle, fear-free restraint techniques

• Dispense medications and provide client education on at-home care (SQ fluids, syringe feeding, etc.)

Requirements:

• Licensed Veterinary Technician (LVT) in NYS or license-eligible

• Prior experience with exotics is a plus, but not required

• Minimum 1 year of veterinary experience preferred
